Private Patient Billing Information
East Wimmera Health Service encourages privately insured patients to be admitted as private patients. If you choose to be admitted as a private patient at an EWHS campus there is a financial benefit to the Health Service. If you choose to be admitted as a private patient there may be a private health insurance ‘excess’ and ‘gap’ where out-of-pocket expenses may be incurred, however, the East Wimmera Health Service will meet these expenses as follows:
You will not receive a bill for your hospital stay as this is sent directly to your health fund. The Health Service will write off any “excess”(up to $600 automatically, over $600 by arrangement with the Campus Manager) and will refund any gap on payments to medical services.
