Acute Services
East Wimmera Health Service, offer a range of Acute services across each the five sites, each community supports a local doctor, who is the cornerstone for providing ongoing care to the community.
East Wimmera Health Service provides a 24-hour accident and emergency service at each of its five campuses, providing resuscitation and limited stabilisation prior to transfer of the patient to a larger hospital. Due to the large geographical distances and the nature of the injuries presenting we are fortunate to have access to both the Ambulance helicopter and the fixed wing air craft that rush patients to either a major regional hospital or a metropolitan hospital.

Acute Services at East Wimmera Health Service include medical care provided primarily by GPs, medical staff not usually available on site. Low to medium complexity acute medical inpatient services to local community, procedural services primarily by GP procedural lists

Our St Arnaud Campus offers birthing facilities to women who meet the low birthing criteria. We also offer across the health service a Pregnancy Care program that including domiciliary visits which is a home based service to monitor the health of your baby.
